Samuel Hanes

Samuel has led mission-critical change on clients' thorniest issues. He specialises in creatively applying rigorous academic evidence and testing what works. 
 
Through Hawthorn's partnership with Arch10, Sam helps clients narrow their focus, build a robust theory of change, and implement at scale. He was a founding member of the Behavioural Insights Team, leading their pioneering work in Jobcentres; has helped the Singapore Prime Minister's office come up with new ideas for their population crisis; and was the Head of Economics at Grab, the most successful startup in Southeast Asia.  
 
Sam is dedicated to public service - he has served in the Territorial Army, was a Metropolitan Police Special Constable and is currently chair of governors of a primary school.
