Idil Oyman

Idil leads Hawthorn’s Litigation and Disputes practice. A strategic communications specialist with over 25 years’ experience in London and Washington, she advises clients in high-stakes and contested situations — helping them protect reputation, secure business interests, and maintain credibility under pressure.

She brings a campaign-based approach to litigation and dispute communications, integrating strategy, media engagement, and stakeholder management across multiple jurisdictions and sectors.

Before joining Hawthorn, Idil founded and led the litigation communications practice at another UK agency, advising on some of the most high-profile cases before the High Court. Earlier in her career, she worked in politics in both Westminster and Washington, serving as Special Adviser to Lord Chancellor David Gauke and as Press Secretary to a Member of the US Congress.
