Background

Emma Kosian is a strategic communications specialist advising governments, conglomerates, and high-net-worth individuals on reputational risk and disputes. 
 
She has extensive experience working with parties operating or holding assets in the Middle East and Africa, frequently collaborating with legal teams to help clients navigate disputes and protect their reputations. At Hawthorn, Emma advises high-net-worth individuals (confidential), along with corporate clients including DLA Piper, Nardello & Co, and Constructive Bio. Her sector experience spans extractives, legal, TMT, and FMCG. 
 
Emma joined Hawthorn in June 2024 from boutique reputation firm Woodrow, having previously worked at Burson-Marsteller (now Burson), Deloitte, and Shell. She spent years working between London and Sub-Saharan Africa, building a deep regional network. Fluent in English, German, Dutch, and Spanish, she holds an MSc from Leiden University.
