Background

A corporate and leadership communications expert, Gordon has advised some of the world’s most prominent brands and leaders across luxury, retail, technology and financial services. A former journalist, he brings more than 15 years of experience across news, digital content and communications. 
 
Since joining Hawthorn in 2019, Gordon has devised strategies to build and protect the reputations of both emerging and established brands. His broad client experience – which includes Kering, Net-A-Porter, and Maybourne (owners of Claridge’s) - has seen him establish crisis communications protocols, deliver messaging and media training, and implement narrative, messaging, and thought leadership campaigns. He is renowned for securing high-impact digital and media coverage for his clients, including regular commentary spots in prestigious outlets including the BBC, Forbes, and the Financial Times. 
 
Before Hawthorn, Gordon led the Corporate team at Porter Novelli (part of the Omnicom Group). In this role, he developed media strategies and managed complex issues for a wide range of clients, including British Telecom, eBay, Johnson & Johnson, and Hewlett Packard. His expertise in navigating the media landscape has been instrumental in helping organisations build and protect their reputations.
