The Rt Hon. The Lord Garnier KC
In addition to his advisory work for Hawthorn, Edward Garnier combines practice at the Bar from 4 Pump Court in the Temple with a political career. He was called to the Bar in 1976 and appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1995.
His legal practice includes defamation, privacy and media law, international human rights, public law and corporate crime.
He was the Conservative MP for Harborough 1992-2017, Solicitor General 2010-12, and Shadow Attorney General 1999-2001, 2009-10. Knighted in 2012, he became a Privy Counsellor in 2015 and a Life Peer in 2018.
