Michelle Kent

Michelle Kent is the Office Manager and Executive Assistant at Hawthorn.

She is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Hawthorn office and general Human Resources administration. Michelle also provides support to the Chief Operating Officer and Partners.

Previously, Michelle was PA to the President at the Royal Institute of British Architects and completed a year-long secondment as Events Manager, organising RIBA’s flagship Stirling Prize and Royal Gold Medal Week events. Prior to this, she worked for Buzzacott chartered accountants, Odgers Berndtson executive recruitment and as Studio Manager at the Royal College of Music.

Michelle has a keen interest in travel, the natural world, culture and the arts and studied Surface Design at university. She is also CIPD Level 3 qualified.

In her free time, Michelle practices several creative activities including writing, sewing, design and loves spending time in her wild garden.

Lauren Harvey

Lauren Harvey is Head of Marketing and Content for Hawthorn, where she leads innovative strategies, content creation, and event management to enhance the company’s brand visibility.

Lauren started her career at the London Evening Standard, where she played a key role in the creation and organisation of the London Film Awards and the Progress 1000 awards.

She moved to the BBC and worked on Radio 4’s Today programme as a producer, researcher and creator of digital content, particularly video stories.

Outside of work, Lauren enjoys reading and exploring new destinations through travel.

Justine Cannings

Justine Cannings is a professional and trusted Executive Assistant who supports Hawthorn’s Founder and CEO.

She is part of Hawthorn’s operational team and helps to run the company’s varied events calendar.

Justine has fourteen years’ experience in luxury industries, specialising across varying sectors including retail, politics, philanthropy, and communications. She thrives when planning projects, business ventures and developing and maintaining loyal relationships with CEOs and other C-Suite executives and teams.

She graduated from the University of Exeter with a First-Class degree in English and is a keen long-distance runner.

Jennie Macdougall

As Head of Finance, Jennie is responsible for the finance function at Hawthorn.

She joined Hawthorn from King’s College School, Wimbledon where she was the Financial Controller, since 2009. Prior to this, Jennie held various head office and operational roles at Granada Group and ITV plc, lastly as Financial Controller for the ITV Broadcasting Division.

She is a Chartered Accountant and graduated from Exeter University with a BA (Hons) in Accountancy.
